The Story

This Tibetan-Bhutanese Dagger dates back to the 17th-18th century, featuring a finely layered Damascus steel blade and intricate golden embellishments on the pommel. The dagger retains much of its original design and aesthetic including the handles textured grip, the functionality and aesthetic appeal for its carrier still remain. While the sheath shows considerable wear in salty condition, it once reflected the dagger's elegant design that is still apparent on the pommel.

Daggers of this style were revered in Tibetan and Bhutanese culture, often used by monks, warriors, or nobility as ceremonial and practical weapons. The Damascus steel blade, renowned for its strength and striking patterns, demonstrates the high level of metallurgy in the region. Surviving examples from this era are rare, making this a historically significant and collectible piece.
