The Story

This rare first-pattern German WW2 RLB Officer’s Armband (circa 1933-1939) is a prime example of WWII-era German militaria. Made of mid-blue cotton, it features a machine-embroidered RLB emblem at the center, with a forty-eight-point white starburst and navy blue "RLB" initials above a small navy-blue swastika. The top and bottom edges are trimmed with woven white tress, indicating wear by officer rank.

History:
The Reichs Luftschutz Bund (RLB) was founded in 1933 as a civil air raid protection organization under Hermann Göring’s Reich Ministry of Aviation. Originally voluntary, it became mandatory in 1935. Officers in the RLB played a critical role in air raid preparedness across Wartime Germany. This armband is a highly collectible piece of Reich air defense history, known for its rarity and historical significance.
