U.S. Rev War Spadroon Sword c.1780–1800 5-Ball Brass Hilt Stamped Blade

This is a collectible U.S. Infantry Officer’s Spadroon Sword dating from approximately 1780–1800. Featuring the classic 5-ball brass hilt, beaded knuckle guard, and a heavy-spined blade stamped with a rare “C” mark, this piece reflects early efforts at military standardization.

Originally adopted by the British, this spadroon design was also widely carried by American and French officers during the Revolutionary and French Revolutionary Wars. Known in France as the épée anglaise ("English sword"), its widespread use underscores its historical significance.
